KZN AIDS LINK is a new networking site being set up on the Internet to promote communication and serve the interests of all those involved in not-for-profit HIV/AIDS work in KwaZulu-Natal. The idea behind the site is to provide a one-stop gateway on the Internet for the KwaZulu-Natal AIDS community. You'll be able to see who else is working in your field, exchange information and make new contacts. If you have a website, we'll put up a link to take others there. If you don't, we can help you describe and promote your work on this site - and we can help you create pages of your own. You do not need to have Internet access or even email to be listed on the site or to have your work publicised. The important thing is simply to be here so that others can hear about you and get in touch. Our site will be only as good as the people who participate - so please do join. As with all networks, benefits increase disproportionately in relation to the number of participants. KZN AIDS LINK is an idea that developed out of doctoral research at the London School of Economics, and it is entirely non-commercial. We have free web space donated to us by Kabissa, a US-based agency that promotes Internet access for African non-profits. There is no advertising on the site. We will, howver, help to promote poverty-relief, income generation or fundraising projects by member non-profits. Please tell others about KZN AIDS LINK. We are aware that there are literally hundreds of NGOs, churches, researchers, educators, hospices, community groups and informal projects engaged in non-profit HIV/AIDS work of one kind or another, and it has been impossible to contact all of them. Whoever you are, wherever you are, we would like to hear from you and put you on our site. National or international non-profit organisations are eligible to join, provided they have a KwaZulu-Natal branch or are active in the region. Individuals working on their own are also welcome.
